The way I suggest items to be gained for crafting, is you press your scavange button and your character kneels down for 15 seconds. After that your given a small bit of junk, shell casings, armor fragments, etc.
Then you cant use the ability again for like 10 minutes. You wont see people running around ONLY to find materials, they will do it during breif breaks in normal PvP battles.
oh, and CRAFTERS WONT GET ANY SUPER GUNS/UPGRADES THAT AN NPC DOESNT ALREADY SELL

Like I've said. If I saw someone scavenging, I'd probably shoot them in the head. And if crafters don't get anything that NPC's don't sell already, then what's the point? Unless game money is extremely hard to come by, there's no point to crafting.
