Well, from what I know, every class is capable of using the grenade launcher (named the "flinger" in game). I think that phantom, however, is not able to upgrade their skills in it, and instead get some other type of weapon. So yeah, pretty much everyone and their kid brother will be running around with a grenade launcher in their back pocket. And why wouldn't they? The thing is so damn overpowered that it pretty much one-shots everything. In my opinion, it's a much better option than the shotgun, which is supposed to be the main close-range weapon. ( The trailer does NOT paint an accurate picture of the shotgun with that guy leaping around and one-shotting guys like 10 feet away from him. It practically needs you to be right up in their face so you can hit them with all the bullets that it sprays out.)

But back to the point of all this, I think that all people will be able to use a grenade launcher of some sort, and will most likely do so, just because of its amazing close-range abilities. Then again, with my current weapons, I don't have the space for one, (I'm a phantom, so I have a regulator, a sniper rifle, and a machine gun) which might also be the case for many other people, depending on their playing style. So really, it will all come down to personal preference. The grenade launcher does, after all have a range limit on it. It's not like someone will be able to pop up a grenade into the sky and have it land across the map. You DO need to be relatively close for it to work.
