Planetside had no instancing. Each world was persistent. If you took over a base and left then it would still be that way forever. Instancing is like in WoW where a team jumps into a portal and it creates a whole world for them. At any one point there can be hundreds of the same world but different instances running with no relation to one another. Huxley looks like it will have tons of instancing.

I'm starting to doubt it's "mmo" title. I mean battlefield 2142 allowed 64 players on a map and kept stats on players and allowed them to unlock weapons. The only reason it isn't an MMOFPS is because it's completely instanced and has no open lobby system. Guild Wars was borderline MMORPG for these same reasons.
