Let me try a bit of a sales pitch for Huxley

Maybe I can shed some light on how I see it. I played WoW, liked it just fine for a while, I played UT (still do) liked it, I've planetside and liked it, and CoD4 is fun too

. I liked all of these game for one reason or another....Huxley is NOT any of these games.
True, Huxley will probably be more fast paced than people want it to be. A lot of people's dream game is a slower FPS (like BF or CoD4) but on a huge scale, bigger maps, more squads, more abilities, and tons of strategy.
Unfortunately, the gameplay that we've seen in Huxley isn't what most people expected (though we haven't seen a whole lot of vehicle use or melee weapon use which could play a big role in the game).
The thing with UT is, unless you're playing in a clan, you're going to be on your own. That means if you're a new player, you're going to make tons of mistakes (running into a battle guns blazing, trying to get a kill off before you die). Unfortunately when you do that, you usually just die in the crossfire.
The people who play in clans know that there are strategies to use and ways to work together.
What I can see Huxley accomplishing is not only a blend of MMO and FPS, but also a blend of fast pace FPS with the slow pace FPS that focus on strategy and working well with a squad. They may not slow the gameplay down, but focusing on the forming of squads and giving players special abilities that help them command squads and platoons etc. definitely enhances the strategy.
If you take a look at what Huxley is adding to the standard FPS like UT, you'll find out that there are tons of abilities that you'll be able to use. Ranging from tons of different styles of each gun, a bunch of abilities (a few of which we know (
Huxley Evolved - A Huxley Game (MMOFPS) Fansite) scroll down to the bottom of that page in the link and you'll see a list of them), and a bunch things you can get by leveling up and using license points (which seems like a skill tree in most MMOs)
Huxley isn't just an FPS with some addon abilities thrown in there.
It's an FPS with fully functional RPG qualities.
In the end it's really up to the player. If you don't want to die all the time, then think for a second before you go running into a battle. Join a clan so you know you'll always be working with someone who will watch your back. There will be plenty of things to do in Huxley besides running and gunning. Crafting items, doing missions, filling the support role for your squad (healing etc. there will be medpacks and a gun that recharges your allies armor), or just cruise around in a vehicle, picking people up and giving them a lift to the battle.
sorry I'm trying to keep it short...:D
SO
Blend of MMO and FPS AAAAAND fast pace FPS and slower more tactical FPS. Tons of abilities and different types of guns and armor.
It's not UT, it's not Quake, it's not WoW, it's not Planetside, It's not CoD, it's not BF...It's Huxley
