Re: Anyone else bothered by the term "twitch action mmofps"
I'd say your opinion about UT is extremely misguided.
New players to UT3 that come from slow paced games generally have a hard time adjusting. I used to play it before it died (it manages about 300 players worldwide as of now, so its pretty dead), so I know what I'm talking about. UT does not reward camping. It rewards aim, prediction, map control, and fragging ability. Unlike WoW, which is a very slow paced game, UT is decided in seconds, and is extremely skill based.
As it stands now, I don't think you're going to have much fun with Huxley. Huxley is being designed for the same demographic that enjoys UT-case and point, everyone that previewed the game has said its extremely similar to UT. You have to remember that Huxley is an MMO for the FPS crowd, not an FPS for the MMO crowd.
Now if you want my opinion, I think Huxley is great. Obviously, being a UT fan, I love twitch based FPS. On the flip side, I can't stand a game like WoW, where fights are more decided on who has a better hat and gloves than who is the better player. I think Huxley is just what the FPS genre needs.
If you're looking for something thats slow paced like WoW, then I really don't think Huxley is your cup of tea. Perhaps Warhammer online would suit you better?
