Default Anyone else bothered by the term "twitch action mmofps"

I bought Unreal Tournament 3. Let me tell you, it reminds me of Quake. You spawn you die, spawn die, camp die. 2 shots and you die. Instagib like FPS where your lifespan is about 5-15 seconds are not fun to someone who just retired 4 years of World of Warcraft and is no longer interested in gib fest games.

That kind of game isn't fun when you try to draw in the gamers that are used to a different style of gameplay seen a lot in the MMO world.

I like FPS's dont get me wrong. I just believe that UT and Quake specifically can drain the fun completely out of it if all you are is fragbait since you dont spend 8 hours a day on a game perfecting your mouse aim and your reaction time.

Take Call of Duty 4. That game won TONS of awards last year, its a awesome FPS and has a mechanic that just addicts you to it. You get rank with experience through kills. Thats fun. Its not so super fast forward paced like UT3 and it takes more than 1-2 shots for you to meet your demise.

It's my opinion, if Huxley is nothing more than a instagib camp fest, and this game is nothing more than Unreal Tournament 2004 with some experience thrown in to unlock weapons and skills, It will turn off a lot of the MMORPG crowd. In battles where all you do is kill one guy die respawn rinse repeat, it gets monotonous. I see a lot of people in these gibfest FPS's just camping in a corner and 1-2 shotting people who run by because if you stay on your feet and on the move chances are you won't live long at all to rack up points or whatever is needed to be on top.

Let's face it, twitch translates to "crap there he is".... point shoot. Who ever doesn't over compensate is the winner. 1-2 shots; dead. then spawn kablooey i got spawn camped :(

Thoughts?

Trolls and flames at bay please, want to see what this community thinks of this OPINION and point of view.
