I'm pretty sure everyone has to fight since this is an FPS at it's core. As for crafting armor and weapons, probably not but hopefully there will be a huge selection. It would also be cool to see upgrades and personalization options so everyone with the same set of armor and weapons doesn't look the same.

Now that I mention it, I remember reading somewhere that personalization of appearance was something that Webzen was prioritizing for the non-Asian audience. Hopefully it will involve more than your initial choices for appearance such as hair style, skin color, etc.
