As connnnn summarized already most of it, I'm just going to add that you should wait, for the two following reasons:

1) Upcoming release of the Bearlake X38 chipset.
2) Upcoming release of the GeForce 9 series, supposedly in the Q4 2007 time frame. (November)

After the release of the GF 9 series, I expect to see a significant (hopefully) drop in the GF 8 price. As for the X38, well, it's either going to be something to buy, or not (X38 brings forward PCI-Express 2.0). Nevertheless, if you're building this for Huxley, I would definitely wait.
