I'm pretty sure you won't have to party to gather on the battlefield. Huxley will have instanced battlefields but we don't really know for sure if it's ONLY instanced battlefields and nothing else. They haven't said anything about needing to be grouped to get into the battlefield though.

You might need one for some of the PvE battlefields but I don't see why you'd need one for the PvP ones since I don't think there will be multiple instances for the same battlefield (like the WoW battlegrounds)
