Default Re: How Many People in a Wow sever

First, let me start out by saying I'm not trying to flame you Brene, I am not trying to word anything in an argumentative manner. I do, however feel that the way you have worded your post questions the reasoning of mine, so this post is to defend that reasoning.

I knew of no public data for a max number of players per server, so the way to get that would be to guesstimate by assuming that the law of supply and demand holds true for the number of players and the number of servers... the way to start that guesstimation is first by how many players exist, and then guessing how many of those players have multiple characters, and going from there to figure out how many players might be online at once. I only resorted to math after I searched for the value and could not find a direct answer.

It's probably closer to 40 million characters.
I did not ever say 9 million characters. I used the term players, which I would say is synonymous with subscribers in this context. I did account for multiple characters per subscriber, and in the end, the number I calculated was 15000, which isn't really that far off from what you claim the number to be.

Where did you found this number? I'm not trying to discredit the value, but I haven't been able to find it anywhere stated that WoW servers have a 10,000 player cap, and I would like to know where I can refer to if I needed that information again.
