Instanced pvp ruins the fun, it feels like you're doing the same thing over and over (though it might not get as quickly boring as WoW bg's were, it will eventually will) with no results to the actual world. I want to actually CAPTURE a contested town, and get benefits from it. I want it to feel like a WAR GAME, like PLANETSIDE, not lol collecting mah honor points in the same bg for 10 hours a day so I can hit rank 14ness
one of the reasons I'm looking forward to this game is basically because it seems like it WILL be very different from how WoW pvp is handled.

Though the battles will most likely be instanced, like I said above it won't be anything like how WoW does it. First off, the battlefields will be HUGE. Not like arathi basin in WoW where you can see the other side of the map if you just look over. And I believe they said they will have 80 DIFFERENT battlefields. This is just a few more than the........4? that WoW has now.

And the battles will have an effect on the persistant world. Something along the lines of gathering the energy source everyone is fighting for and it effecting how the city runs or something. I believe what was said was that if you lose a mine or something then your "standard of living" goes down. Not sure what that means, but it's good news that the battles actually matter. I'm pretty sure it's not going to be another honor grind that takes 40 hours a week just to reach some rank and get a sword that glows in the dark
