I'm pretty sure it would all be up to the players. They get the license to fly a dropship, they get into the dropship, pick up any players that want to come along, maybe have a scout find an area they could drop in with the most success and then they fly over to wherever they want and everyone bails out (hopefully with some sort of gravity thing or anything to keep them alive from the fall), the pilot stays of course (unless he doesn't care and just wants to join in the fighting too lol.

That is, if they are going to let people do the whole drop-in from high up thing. They might just make the dropship land or get close enough to the ground so everyone can jump out with no special abilities that save you from a high fall. I think jumping in from way up in the air would be more fun :D
