I would say that many of the weapons listed would fall into the categories already listed. A large arry of machine guns would fall within the light and HE machine gun category. Rail guns could fit in with a HE assault weapon along with a large array of other heavy hitting hand cannons. I would say we can safetly look at UT3 and the weapons that they will have and say that there will be some kind of weapon like that in the game along with 100s of different varitations of them and many more. At least I hope it is like this and not like most FPS with 5-13 weapons. IT is an MMO and MMOs usually have lots of different weapons, Lots.
I would also love to see different types of damage like poison, heat, projectile, melee, chemical, energy. Damage types and different types of armor that protected against those types better than others would add a massive amount of variation to the game play and content. Offer different types of ammo that can be used with guns that change damage type and their effects. Like add a bullet that, on impact, creates an AoE damage effect but was far weaker, to one person than the solid slug option. Adding a system like this would take your average FPS and turn it into an MMO.
