I'm pretty sure the battles wont be isntanced, like the instances you think of in WoW. You don't run through a portal...watch a loading screen...then start to fight.

They described it as, you get on a tram, take the train to the battle area, there are no loading screens, then make your way to a battle. So it shouldn't seem like WoW, which makes me happy.

I understand that it's probobly hard to keep a whole world running with huge uncontrolled battles going all over, so instancing huge battles is probably necessary, and anyway they can make it seem less instanced and more like your just traveling to a battle makes it better :D
