personally, I used to enjoy UT2004 greatly in comparison to halo. In UT2004 the death rate was just right - they didn't die too fast nor too slow, and I could jump around and dodge and stuff, where as compared to Halo everyone ran so sloooooooooow and died so fast =( but that's just my humble little oppinion...
it really is too soon to say how the game is going to be considering most of us have only the videos to go off of. just wait till it comes out and we'll see it's pace
