Talking Re: UT Style Gameplay

Heheh wow. Everyone here is trying to guess at what Huxley will play like, and all you got to go on is the videos... but hey, we can dream and drool all we want cant we? ^_^
As far as fast paced frag fest games like UT2K4 versus games like BF2142... I kinda like something in the middleground. UT2k4 is a fast game yes, pretty much who can pop off the most rounds into someone before the other can. In that game, the closer you get to someone, the more frantic everything becomes. In team based matches, you could always go solo and rape everyone if you were good enough, capturing all the power nodes or what not. But no matter how good you are, if you are presented with a area that is being defended by several peeps with even a trace amount of coordination, teamwork makes a HUGE difference in any online shooter. Just the simple act of getting a group of a few together and going in as one squad to attack something, presents quite a force. When you look at your "Tactical" games, games like Battlefield2142, where the focus is less on who hasa the quickest fingers on the keyboard and more on objective coordination, that kind of game draws its own croud. The gameplay may seem slow to some, but again, I have found when you get into close quaters combat, things are still fast, specially when the weapon physics seem more realistic, I.E. you dont unload 500 laser blasts into someone and they are still ripping your ass a new one. Depending on your prefered FPS flavor, there is not htat much difference, and the way it looks for Huxley, there is plenty of time for more thought out and strategical gameplay and obviously time for the whole twitchy, bunny hopping frag fest where the only people with the advantage are the ones who know thier keyboard better then they know the goings on of the world outside thier poorly lit bedroom ^_^
Huxley looks to be a game that offers the ebst of both worlds.
Personally, I prefer the gameplay of Battlefield 2142 over UT2K4, but if im ever in the mood for venting and just blowing **** up, I do often switch for UT2K4, when things dont seem to be moving on fast enough, or all the thinking and strategizing isnt helping me stopping my character from getting his ass handed to him left and right. Hmmm... I guess I view UT2K4 as a outlet for myfrustration. teehee.
