Wikipedia- role-playing game: "A game in which players assume the roles of characters and collaboratively create narratives". notice how it says characterS. as in more then one. case and point. and of course im going to take it as its literal meaning because thats what it mean. ALL RPGs have the choice to be different people or different classes. its not a characteristic that some have. MOST HAVE IT. (and by most im talking like 95%) but you go ahead and bend the meaning of the words just so you can be right... but all i have to say is stop while your only alittle behind...
I just want to point out that you say you ARE going to be taking the literal meaning of a "role-playing game" and then list of those games as not having "RPG elements."

Well, at the literal meaning of the acronym, you play the role of something. In the Zelda series, you play the role of link. In the Halo series, you play the roles of Master Chief and the Arbiter. However, at the literal meaning of "role-playing" game, those game are indeed RPGs. You define them as not being RPGs, but also say you take the meaning of RPG literally.

Likewise, how is the fact that the wikipedia definition said that an RPG consists of characters your case and point? In the Halo series, you play the roles of two characters, yet you do not define it as an RPG.
