If macros give you an advantage in an FPS, it's the developers' faults.
Piped weapon switching and crazy binds might have worked in ut2k3 where you could actually increase your rate of fire (allegedly) by switching quickly, but that was a flaw in the game design and it's no longer an advantage in ut2k4... it's not difficult to fix that in a game. Most good players have every weapon bound to a key so they can switch just as fast as a bind anyways.
